Braces

Orthodontic braces serve the purpose of aligning and enhancing the appearance and functionality of your teeth. This proves advantageous for individuals of all ages, as properly aligned teeth are simpler to maintain. Beyond the practical benefits, achieving a straightened dental alignment often results in a notable boost in self-esteem and confidence.

While undergoing the braces procedure, some discomfort may be experienced as the teeth are adjusted. It's worth noting that braces can potentially trap more food than usual, necessitating heightened diligence in maintaining excellent oral hygiene to stave off potential issues like tooth decay and gum disease. Common varieties of braces encompass the traditional metal option as well as ceramic braces.

Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners, such as Invisalign or Spark, are designed to straighten teeth. They consist of a set of custom-made aligners that are nearly invisible and can be taken out. The material's transparency makes the braces hardly noticeable when worn on the teeth. By wearing these aligners for a minimum of 17 hours a day, your teeth will gradually shift into the desired position, ensuring the effectiveness of the treatment.

Surgical Orthodontics

Orthognathic surgery, commonly referred to as jaw surgery, addresses irregularities of the jaw bones by realigning them and correcting issues with the teeth to enhance their functionality. This corrective procedure is also capable of positively impacting facial aesthetics.

When orthodontic treatments alone prove insufficient in resolving jaw-related issues, jaw surgery becomes a viable solution. Typically, individuals undergoing this procedure wear braces both before and after surgery, as part of the recovery process, until healing is complete and proper alignment is achieved. Collaborating closely with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, our orthodontist will develop a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

Jaw surgery is appropriate after the cessation of growth, typically occurring around ages 14 to 16 for females and 17 to 21 for males.
